This week has been pretty slow and steady. I’m back down to my pre Christmas weight, so really pleased about that and I’ve now managed to squeeze in a regular sprints session and a regular baby run.
Unfortunately this week’s big run was interrupted by icy pavements and had to be done on the dreaded treadmill. And then I strained my calf. So a couple of days of icing and stretching lie ahead to get that little glitch fixed, before it develops into something worse.
Away from all the training, I’ve been planning more challenges for this year. And that’s why I’m thrilled to be able to tell you about Team Honk – which kicked off yesterday in Cornwall as part of Sport Relief.
This year, 150 bloggers from across the country are passing a baton from Land’s End to John O’Groats, by almost any means possible – running, walking, swimming, cycling, flying – a total of 3000 miles.
Obviously, this isn’t going to take us a day or so. It’s going to take us 6 weeks.
Of course, as I’m already running, my option was a no brainer, and so I’m running from Sale Water Park all the way to Deansgate on 8th March – to be met by a group of Manchester bloggers who, I believe, are set to make their way through Manchester city centre via pub crawl.
I may hang around for that bit.
We’re not alone in doing our bit for Sport Relief, this year the first ever Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games take place from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd March 2014. Everyone can join the fun and games by running, swimming or cycling their way to raising cash at over a thousand venues around the country, including the landmark events at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

As one of the biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives. The money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people both at home in the UK and across the world.
So, this is where you come in. You can sponsor us here.
Or you can donate £5 by texting HONK to 70005. Costs £5 + standard network message rate. Terms & Conditions can be found here.
But where I really need help is in choosing an outfit. I have to run my 4+ miles in fancy dress and I haven’t a clue what to wear.
So please, if you have a suggestion, pop a comment below, tweet me, text me, email me. So far my friends on Facebook have suggested Wonder Woman, Kick Ass, and running in vintage.
